We have an 8 yr old Labrador retriever who was never crate trained but very well trained nonetheless. In the past few years our Lab has developed severe anxiety especially separation anxiety when I leave the house. When left in a metal crate he tries to find a way out and cuts his face so we decided to try the softer crates alongside our other training routines. We picked this crate because it looks nice as a part of our home and it gives us the option of using it as a day time bed with the two Velcro doors up. Our lab LOVES it. It did have a slight chemical odor to it when we purchased it but now it has faded and we keep it in a small bedroom with us so we would notice it. All we have to say now is "go to your house" and he'll take himself in there with one of his toys, we couldn't ask for better for our older, already trained Lab.

This carrier is well made and has a lot of new features not found on older models, for example shoulder strap hooks, removable plastic bolts, for taking it apart, and a metal grill top that can be removed to remove the pet at the vets. The plastic bolts are less likely to rust. The only problem is the carrier handle. It should be redesigned. It's not secure. My wife was carrying a cat, when the handle came off. Lots of noise. We will only use it to carry cats to the vet, and I will figure a way to secure the handle.

Pioneer Pet 6022 Ceramic Drinking Fountain, Raindrop Design Review

This is the first time I've bought a fountain for my cat, and I've done quite a bit of research on them. Though there isnt much information about this fountain online compared to the drinkwell and petmate fountains, I went for this one after seeing what the insides of the other fountains looked like. I wanted to write this review in amazon so others can get a bit more information so they can make an informed choice.

The main advantages that this fountain has over others are:
1. It's CERAMIC. No scratches in the plastic leading to bacteria. No allergies to the plastic, which some cats get.
2. QUIET PUMP. The pump is absolutely silent. There are three settings on the pump and the first one gives no sounds whatsoever. I have it set on the second setting to get the sound of trickling water. The pump is still quet.
3. EASY TO CLEAN. This was the main reason I got this one. The Drinkwell and petmate fountains requires disassembly and cleaning with special brushes. This fountain is only THREE PARTS. The top part where the water flows down, the main bowl, and the pump. Since it's ceramic, I basically set it at the hottest water setting to scrub it down and sanitize. No special brushes, no bleeding knuckles.
4. NO LEAKS. Just because of the way this fountain is designed (top ceramic dish sits on top of the main bowl), there is no way it can possibly leak. Unless you crack the ceramic dishes, of course!
5. It's pretty.

The only thing I wonder about the other fountains is whether or not my cat would like the waterfall-type fountains. My cat seems to like to drink out of the part where the water comes out of the pump more than out of the bowl. Nevertheless, he gets fresh water and seems to enjoy it.

So far, I'm satisfied with the fountain, and my cat seems to like it, too. As for the pump, I'll have to see how long it lasts.

I used this successfully with my siamese mix cat when I brought her home from the shelter -- she never scratched the furniture.
Well, years go by and lo and behold my cat is scratching the couches (we replaced her cat scratch post and she's not so happy w/it).
I did try 'No Scratch' from the same company because I couldn't find 'No Stay' in the local stores. 'No Scratch' didn't work for me, in fact she likes it. So I am glad to find 'No Stay' on Amazon. Time for re-training.

I'm sure that each cat likes/dislikes certain scents hence the mixed reviews. It's worth trying a few approaches. Cat furniture tape (Sticky Paws) works well too, although does not stick well to all fabrics so the cats can take it off.

SmartCat Multi-Level Cat Climber Review

I bought this despite the mediocre reviews, since it's really the only cat tree that would fit in my apartment. I've had it for about a year now, and I couldn't be happier. It fits perfectly on my closet door, allowing the cat to jump up on top of the closet, or to hang around on the shelves while I throw toys to her. It's just such a fun little addition to my apartment, and provides maximum fun per square inch of space for the cat. I also carried it home by myself and put it together totally alone (and I'm a little weakling) so that was very nice!

I don't find it to be rickety as other reviewers have said. I actually prefer the design that doesn't have one long board, since it takes up less space and it will be less heavy and bulky when I eventually move. It also saves on shipping costs, I assume. Nevertheless, I think the reviewers are right that the design makes it a little noisier, since it is not one long board sitting against the door, but several that are all individually joined together. I do hear whenever the cat jumps up on the shelf. Actually, this might also be a function of the spring on the top that allows you to connect it to your door, so when the cat jumps up, it probably causes the whole thing to move a little. So anyway, that seems to be the only problem with the thing. It's really not so bad on mine though. Mine actually does lie perfectly flatly against the door, unlike some other reviewers, and it seems very sturdy, so maybe I got lucky. I imagine it will last for many many years, since it shows no signs of wear as of yet, aside from the carpet that the kitty scratched up.

Anyway, if you don't have space for a cat tree, or don't want to try to balance one of those tall ones precariously against the ceiling (talk about unsafe!) this is a great alternative. It takes up practically no space at all, and it looks seriously nice and clean. And of course, the kitty will love it!!! That is worth the cost for me alone!!! Have fun!
