I've been using soft paws soft paws for about a year now and they work great. I have a cat who given the chance would (and has) shred everything in the house. She also kicks when she gets off a person lap leaving deep scratches. The only drawbacks I've had with them it that she can't defend herself outside, i have to leave her thumbs free so she can climb the cat tree, and they can get caught in carpet and fabrics. So if you leave your cat alone for a few days I'd have someone check just in case.
If you can clip their toenail you can probably get them on, the best way is to do a few at a time the first go around. Work you way up to putting the whole set on in one setting.

Soft Paws are vinyl nail caps that are applied with an adhesive on to your cat's existing nails. Soft Claws will NOT interfere with your cat's normal claw extraction and retraction.
