I bought this for one of my cats because she HATES having her claws trimmed.

The first time I put them on, I trimmed the claws too short which resulted in her being able to pull them off sooner than she should have.

The next time, though, I trimmed off just the tip of her claws. Almost all of them stayed on for nearly 7 weeks! Yes, she tried to pry them off once in awhile, just like she would with the normal nail sheath if it didn't come off on its own, but she wasn't able to pry them off. One of them lasted over 8 weeks. I cut it off at that point, trimmed her nails, and put a fresh set on.

The glue holds VERY well if you get it down in there like you're supposed to. They stay on very well, again, as long as you don't trim too much of the nail off. I just put the third set on my cat this morning, and I'm still on the first tube of glue! You do get better with practice just like with anything else. So, don't be discouraged if the first set doesn't last as long as expected, just figure out what went wrong and correct it if you can.

These are great, I highly recommend them. They don't interfere with her balance or anything like (shudder) declawing would for those who would even consider declawing. Plus, they allow me to trim her claws every 6 - 8 weeks instead of the 4 - 5 I do my other cats. All my cats are about 1 year old now, so still young. They look great on her as well. I hope someday she'll be better about having her claws trimmed and I won't need these anymore, but until then, I'm sure glad to have them!

The only thing I can even think of that might be considered a "con" for these is that you don't always find the ones that eventually come off. But, that's not really a problem with the product itself, just a function of it's necessarily small size ;)

If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would.
