VHS to DVD(TM) Deluxe 4.0 includes a USB 2.0 Video Capture Device, a USB cable and software to convert analog video to digital, or reformat digital video, for recording on DVDs. PC users can either use the capture device interface or connect their digital video cameras and players to their PC to store the video. The VHS to DVD Deluxe 4.0 software formats the video for DVD players, Blu-ray Disc players and recording devices. Compared to Roxio's new product, which I bought it almost free from Fry's with rebate, it's definitely much more easier to use.
I hate reading manuals for a software and the Honestech's product has very easy to understand User Interface with pictorial instruction on the Easy Mode. I highly recommend this product for first time user to convert analog vidoes to DVD.
I haven't tried the Blu-ray burning since I don't have the writer but HD editing worked with my HDV camcorder.......I have searched long for a good transfer mechanism to get my old video tapes transferred and this does a moderately good job of it. Be forewarned though, this sort of transfer uses a LOT of CPU resources. If your machine is not up to snuff it won't even matter how good the medium is. I have WinVista and a Core 2 Duo processor with 3 GB of DDR2 RAM and during the capture process the machine uses virtually all the processors resources.
